As an amateur (or "ham") radio operator, I participate in many hobbies and public service activities - from providing safety communications for large events to chatting around the world.
Skywarn Storm Spotters are the eyes and ears of the National Weather Service. Volunteers like myself are trained to observe and report severe weather conditions and measurements, in order to improve warning services that protect lives and property in our communities.
I love sweet treats, and I love a good chemistry project, which makes baking one of my favorite pastimes. Sometimes I follow recipes, sometimes I modify recipes, and sometimes I just go wild with whatever I have in the kitchen.
From passing frustrated motorists on the morning commute, to leading training rides, to riding 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles raising money for AIDS/LifeCycle - My absolute favorite way to get around (and get some exercise) is road cycling with my baby, the Orange Dreamcycle.
